Latimeria is a Finnish design company run by Juha Luukkonen and founded in 1994. Originally based in Helsinki, Latimeria moved in 2005 to its current location in Porvoo where our products are now made.
What is your philosophy?
We regard ourselves as poets, but without using words. Although we work with a material which is perceived as cold and hard, we aim to create sensitive and emotional products. Each object which leaves our studio is discussed in great detail and carefully finished…
Robert Race has been a full-time toymaker for over thirty years.Starting with dolls’ houses and miniature furniture he has subsequently concentrated on moving toys and simple automata, which have been widely exhibited in Britain, Europe and beyond.
